Our Ministers

Don Conley - Senior Minister

God has blessed Don Conley with a life much different than one he could have ever imagined. As a young man growing up in southern Indiana, Don hadintended on becoming a high school basketball coach in his hometown. During his freshman year of college at Indiana State University, however, Don realized a desire in his heart to enter the ministry. Soon thereafter, he enrolled in Kentucky Christian College.

He began his first ministry as the youth minister at the Little Prater Church of Christ in Grundy, Virginia. In October of 1990, he accepted the call as youth minister here at Ringgold. He fulfilled that role until 1996 when he accepted the role of senior minister.

Don and his wife, Dana has been married for fourteen years. They have three girls, Danielle, Donna Jo, and Destiny. Their son's name is David.

Their involvement in ministry is a central focus of their lives and family. Both Don and Dana grew up in Christian families who modeled godly values that helped shape their desires to serve Christ. Dana's folks still live on the family farm in Bloomington, Indiana, and Don's parents continue to live in his hometown of Orleans, Indiana.

Richard Daughtridge - Associate Minister

Richard Daughtridge, our associate minister grew up in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He met Christ at the age of 18 having been invited to a church music service by a friend in 1970. Having been raised in an un-churched family, and having a history of delinquent behavior, Richard's newfound faith became life changing. His testimony immediately opened doors to share that faith and as a young man. Many churches, schools, and youth camps around the area sought him to share his story. He traveled in an evangelistic ministry for several years in the southeast. In 1974 he was invited to speak in Quito Ecuador and that invitation was expanded to many different cities of Ecuador, Peru, and Chile. Throughout this time he had an unquenchable hunger for the word of God. He read and studied every theological book that he could find and set personal goals to learn everything he could about the Bible and to memorize the scriptures. He studied Spanish at the Catholic University in Quito. Though he decided to attend a small Bible school, Campemento Nueva Vida, (New Life Camp) near Quito, Ecuador he says most of his biblical knowledge has come through books, self education and of course from the best teacher of all, The Holy Spirit. He later taught at the mission school in Ecuador and extended his stay for five more years.

Richard later married Robin Layman, a friend and also teacher in the school at Quito. Robin had served in the Philippines for several years working with tribal groups through Christ To The Philippines Mission a missions group based in Manila.

After serving at the school for another year and traveling together throughout Columbia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile on evangelistic tours Robin and Richard returned to the US and raised a family which now includes Rich, their oldest son that lives in Smithsburg, Maryland with his wife Susan and one year old son Reed, Ryan the younger son that lives in New York City and Alyson their daughter that is a sophomore at Taylor University in Indiana.

Richard accepted the call to become the associate minister at Ringgold Church Of Christ in 1997.

Richard and Robin have a lifetime of experience in ministry and in many walks of life and are very excited about the ministry at Ringgold.
